Becoming a lactation consultant was a natural choice for me after experiencing the difficulties that came with breastfeeding my own premature babies. After having two babies born prematurely at 28 and 34 weeks, I had to pump at the bedside for months before they were able to latch. This was the hardest and most emotional time of my life. But it was also a time where I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that I knew could help other women like me. As a lactation consultant, I draw on my own experiences and training to provide professional, knowledgeable, empathetic, compassionate, and friendly support to women who want to breastfeed their babies. I understand firsthand that breastfeeding can be a challenging journey, but with the right support, it can also be a rewarding and fulfilling one.
